Please join Jesus Cares for a great night with live entertainment, a spectacular dinner and charity auction. It is to be held at the Novotel, Parramatta.

Jesus Cares has been operating for over 30 years, serving the poor, the marginalised and the homeless. We give people hope who feel hopeless and befriend those who have no friends. Jesus Cares is not just another welfare organisation, as we believe they need more than food and clothing and so what we offer is hope and are committed in connecting them to God through Jesus Christ. So our focus is on providing for their basic physical needs and then giving them some spiritual resources that can help change their lives, and assist them in breaking away from their current circumstances.

Our mission is to spread the good news of Jesus throughout the Sydney area by showing the love that we know from Jesus. We have many different initiatives around the Sydney area. In the inner city on Thursday’s we give out hot breakfast to the homeless, poor and lonely people of Sydney and on Friday and Saturday nights we have a food van that offers hot food to those that need it. On Sundays there is a service accompanied by a hot meal. In Western Sydney we run an Op shop along with a mini food bank. This area has a high level of unemployment and public housing. This offers a great opportunity to minister and spread the gospel. In South Western Sydney we have a book table and reach out to multicultural communities.

If we were to summarize our mission into one sentence it would be to spread the good news of Jesus and change lives for the better through showing real Christian values such as loving others, obedience and trust and through this we are equipping volunteers for effective Christian service. Through helping those that are downtrodden in the ways that we truly glorify God and Jesus.

There will also be an opportunity to give to this important cause at the dinner.

About the Speaker: Wassim Dabboussi

Wassim has had a life of hard challengers and great success.

Wassim came to Australia as a migrant with no English and grew up in Cabramatta during the tough years. Wassim left Cabramatta as soon as he turned 18 to pursue a career, by 30 years of age he was obese and then went on to lose 25 kgs and own a Jets gym franchise.

Wassim is only 41 years old and has been married for 20 years and in the same relationship for 23 years. An Australian Recession: Not a Matter of If, But When

Evolution dictates survival of the fittest. A recession usually is survival of the smartest. Almost 75,000 businesses were wiped out in the last downturn in Australia. To survive this next onslaught you better plan past potential threats including what will be a declining consumer confidence.
